Eagle Forests Project
The Lesser Spotted Eagle (Aquila pomarina) is migratory-breeding and migratory species in Bulgaria. In the past it was a common bird in the country but in the period 1950 – 1980 its numbers show an uninterrupted decrease (Simeonov et al., 1990). At present nearly 50% of its population (460 – 520 breeding pairs) is concentrated in the Eastern Rhodope Mountain, Sakar Mountain, Derventski Vazvishenia Hills and Strandzha Mountain. There are scattered records from Dobrudzha Plain, Danubian Plain, Thracian Plain, the Western Rhodope Mountain, Sredna Gora, Vitosha, Plana mountains, etc. During autumn migration it concentrates in high numbers in the area of the Bay of Burgas.
Conservation status
IUCN Red List of Threatened Species: Least Concern (LC). Included in the Bulgarian Red Data Book as Vulnerable (VU) B(1a)+C. In Bulgaria it is protected by the law.
As a part of Eagle Forests Project by BSPB (http://eagleforests.org) i was asked for illustration for official shirt of the project for all the members and partners.
It was an honor and a great experience and after some hours of watching the eagle in the wild and some research i came up with a really nice design

Beglika Free Festival shirt design
Over the years, Beglika Festival has established itself as one of the leading summer festivals in Bulgaria.  It is linked with nature, harmonious communication and the relationship of the person with the surroundings. It is focused on socially and communally valuable subjects, like preserving nature, traditions and personal development through new forms of exchange.
Few years ago they've made online contest called "Draw Me a Wood Grouse" for official shirt design of the festival.
My design won the jury award and was sold for about 2 festival days.
The wood grouse is a ground-living forest bird. Once the female has been mated, the males play no further part in rearing the young. Between 5 and 12 eggs is the usual clutch, but as many as 18 have been recorded. They are laid in a nest on the ground, lined with pieces of nearby vegetation.
During the festival many people are comming and are starting to explore the forest and are disturbing the birds.
